History Lesson: The Alamo
You’ve likely heard of it, but do you know the history of The Alamo? Located in San Antonio, The Alamo played an important role in Texas’ war for independence from Mexico. During the 13-day battle in 1863, Texas forces of no more than 200 members occupied The Alamo while Mexican forces seized the fort for 13 days and broke through to overpower them on February 23, 1863. Today, The Alamo provides a variety of tours for tourists to learn the important history of The Alamo and how it helped shape Texas history.
