Book Your Zen? Sonesta Hotels Expand Wellness Perks

(Broadry) With burnout and stress at an all time high — 20 percent of travelers agree relaxation is the driving factor for an overall good vacation experience, according to a new report by Trafalgar.

Luckily, it’s easier than ever for hotel guests to score easy-to-utilize wellness perks. Gone are the days of just simply an in-room massage treatment or lap pool. Guests can now enjoy expansive state-of-the art hotel gyms with peloton bikes, slurp up protein shakes, take plant-based cooking classes, and indulge in plenty of wellness amenities from a variety of hotel brands.

In 2022, some hotel brands are going a step further, offering wellness perks that continue long after check-out. This month, hotel brand Sonesta Hotels & Resorts announced a new partnership with Aura, the all-in-one app for mental wellness and sleep, enabling guests to have access to a complimentary three-month membership.

Aura calls itself the “Spotify for mindfulness” and offers users access to a variety of meditations, life coaching, and stories from coaches. Topics include sleep, focus, reducing stress, and inspiration.

Sonesta Global Brand Leader Max Buccini says the partnership was an ideal match, “our hospitality program is centered on creating a warm and inviting hotel experience for our guests. Offering these complimentary mindfulness tools are authentically in line with our ongoing commitment to support the emotional health, well-being, and comfort of our guests.”
